Old woman's struggle for livelihood in last village on China border in Uttarakhand, India

Description
English: Mana is the last village on the China border in Uttarakhand state of India. It is located in Chamoli district at an altitude of 3200 meters above sea level and at a distance of 3 km from Badrinath Dham, a Hindu pilgrimage site. According to 2011 census the population of the village is 1214. This population belongs to Bhotia community. Life here is very difficult and harsh and tourist dependent. The village is covered under snow for about six months of the year. Hand-woven winter clothes and products made from local plants are the only means of livelihood of the people of this village. In the picture, a local old woman is seen weaving and selling winter clothes.
বাংলা: ভারতের উত্তরাখণ্ড রাজ্যের চীন সীমান্তের শেষ গ্রাম মানা । সমুদ্রপৃষ্ঠ থেকে ৩২০০ মিটার উচ্চতায় এবং হিন্দুদের তীর্থভূমি বদ্রীনাথ ধাম থেকে ৩ কিলোমিটার দূরত্বে চামোলি জেলায় অবস্থিত। ২০১১ সালের আদমশুমারি অনুসারে গ্রামের জনসংখ্যা ১২১৪ । এই জনসংখ্যা ভোটিয়া সম্প্রদায়ের অন্তর্গত । এখানে জীবন নির্বাহ অত্যন্ত কঠিন এবং কঠোর এবং পর্যটক নির্ভরশীল । বছরের প্রায় ছয় মাস এই গ্রাম তুষারপাতের নীচে আবৃত থাকে। হাতে বোনা শীতবস্ত্র ও স্থানীয় উদ্ভিদ থেকে তৈরি বস্তুই এই গ্রামের জনগণের জীবিকা নির্বাহের একমাত্র অবলম্বন । ছবিতে স্থানীয় বৃদ্ধাকে শীতবস্ত্র বোনা ও বিক্রয় করতে দেখা যাচ্ছে ।
