Summary[edit]

Description

أفرجوا عن خليل عواودة

ويقبع خليل عواودة في سجن إسرائيلي بالسجن لأجل غير مسمى دون أي تهمة

وهو مضرب عن الطعام منذ 46 يومًا

Palestinian Khalil Awawdah, detained indefinitely by Israel's occupation forces, has been on hunger strike for 46 days protesting his administrative detention without any trial or even any charge. He started his hunger strike on 3 March 2022.

This photo was taken during a protest outside the Israeli Embassy in London. The action followed a massive raid by Israeli security forces on the Al Aqsa mosque, the third holiest site in Islam, during which women and journalists can be seen on video being attacked by baton wielding riot police - others were injured by rubber bullets. The mosque itself was flooded with tear gas and hundreds of Palestinians were arrested. The Palestinian Red Crescent claimed that Israeli occupation forces refused to allow ambulances access.

The protests also followed the killing of dozens of Palestinians by Israeli Security forces in recent weeks as well as an Amnesty International's report on 1 February 2022 which concluded that Israel's extensive use of segregation, dispossessions and legal discrimination amounted to Apartheid, which it described as a 'cruel system of oppression and a crime against humanity.'
