English: Off the coast of Southern Leyte, Republic of the Philippines (Feb. 19, 2006) – Personnel load relief supplies aboard a CH-46E Sea Knight assigned to the Flying Tigers of Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 262 (HMM-262) on the flight deck aboard USS Essex (LHD 2). HMM-262 is part of the Marine Air Combat Element embarked aboard Essex. Essex and USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) are providing humanitarian assistance for the victims of a devastating Feb. 17 landslide. Both ships are part of the U.S. Navy’s only Forward Deployed Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) homeported in Sasebo, Japan.
