Description
English: "Heroine of the Skies. Three cheers for Miss Amelia Earhart - 'Lady Lindy' - on her marvelous dual Atlantic Flights."

Amelia Earhart - described as 'a Lady Lindy'. Earhart greeted in plane. L/S sea plane floating just of the beach. A crowd has gathered in the rain to look on from the beach. (These shots were taken in 1928 when she landed at Burry Point / Burry Port in Wales). Seaplane with small rowing boats around it. Earhart and the pilots she flew with are rowed ashore. Crowds gather to see the pilots. Shot of Earhart and her comrades. C/U Amelia Earhart - voiceover says 'and isn't she like Lindbergh." This footage relates to Earhart's first trip across the Atlantic - as a passenger in 1928.

Eire, Republic of Ireland, Southern Ireland. Shot of Earhart standing out of cockpit of plane, a crowd below raise their hats and cheer. Closer shot of her waving from the cockpit. She climbs out of her plane and drops to the ground. Pan along the plane (in which she flew the Atlantic in 13 and a half hours). Earhart leans against the wheel of her aeroplane. She signs autographs. She shakes hands with Dan MacAllian (sp?) the farm labourer she nearly hit on landing. C/U Earhart sitting on window sill of house.

Earhart in London. Heavy rain is falling. She is sheltering under the wing of her plane as she is surrounded by journalists and well wishers. Photographers follow her across airfield. Earhart shakes hands with Mr Andrew Mellon, the Ambassador of the United States of America, on the steps of the 'Club House'.
