Of is one of the basic Relations used as part of the Commons categorization ontology. In general, "of" is used to indicate a general hierarchical relationship between two topics in the "topic1 of topic2" format. In this case, topic1 would be the primary topic and topic2 would be the defining topic, in that the category would include only those portions of topic1 that bear a relationship to topic2. "Of" does not define the specific nature of that relationship--it only implies that such a relationship exists. More specific hierarchical relations are thus sub-categories of 'of'.
Example: Aircraft of France is a category of 'aircraft' (topic1) limited to those aircraft with a relationship to 'France' (topic2). Aircraft in France is then a sub-category with a more specific relation in
