The Sucre National Theatre (Teatro Nacional Sucre, Spanish) is located in the Historic Center of Quito, is one of the oldest opera houses in South America. Built between 1879 and 1886 by order of President Ignacio de Veintimilla to be based on an Italian theater design, European-inspired model and is located in the Historic Center of Quito, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

An area that stretches over 790 acres with 130 monumental buildings, over 5,000 smaller properties and numerous 500 year old Churches and Convents. The Historic Center of Quito is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was constructed on what was once a 16th century Inca city at an altitude of 2,850 Metres above sea level in the Andes Mountains near the Equator in Quito, the capital of Ecuador.
