What does it mean “the surroundings are distracting”? Not sure how it relates to quality assessment. The picture is aimed to reproduce the Annamalaiyar Temple along with the Thiruvannamalai city which historically the temple has been an integral part of. In my opinion they blend together aesthetically perfectly but even if it was not so they still still blend together historically. I would like other reviewers to take a look. --Argenberg 00:11, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
It comes down to salience. My eyes do see the temple first, but then I cannot draw my eyes away from the ugly looking background (especially the left erring towards the bottom). I also find the very dark green in the bottom right problematic, because it too draws away the focus. --SHB2000 12:14, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
I wonder how a beautiful and atmospheric city of Thiruvannamalai could look ugly to someone. The trees in the bottom are the lower slopes (foot) of Arunachala mount which also has cultural and historical connection to the city and temple. The image has moody and misty feel mostly because of the overcast weather in the afternoon and dust in the air common in Indian cities. It’s a typical day in Thiruvannamalai. --Argenberg 17:12, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
  •  Comment The image needs some CW rotation. Otherwise it is acceptable. --Smial 09:44, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
