Each of the national contests have nominated ten pictures to the international contest. Out of these fiffty pictures the international jury are responsible for picking the three winning pictures.

The jury will determine the winners of the international contest taking into the consideration the following criteria (in no particular order):

  • Technical quality (sharpness, use of light, perspective etc.);
  • Originality;
  • Usefulness of the image for Wikipedia.

The second round will include all the images that received two votes in the first round. The five images that received 3 or more votes in round 1 will go directly to the final. Each jury member may also nominate one additional images to Round 2. Each jury member have 5 votes in round 2.
