Need better outlet for pornography

[edit]

I think Wikiporno is a poor choice for an alternative outlet for user-contributed amateur pornography, in light of the fact that it is a porn directory and doesn't host any porn itself. However I'm having trouble identifying an appropriate site for this list and would appreciate suggestions. Dcoetzee (talk) 04:30, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • There was an attempt at starting a site called "Sharing is Sexy", but it didn't survive past the "thinking about it" stage. In fact it was because nothing like this existed, that another site, that you won't add here, was set up. VolodyA! V Anarhist Beta_M (converse) 13:08, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • I'm reluctant to suggest your site for several reasons. First you restrict registration to approved users. Second it has the associated political philosophy. I'd really like to see someone create a wiki for freely-licensed pornography, but I'm really looking for something more open. Dcoetzee (talk) 07:03, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
      • The restriction on the registration was intended to drive away spam bots and "i will upload my entire porn stash to help these guys" type people; so it's temporary (even if temporary will be a long time); the site isn't "mine", although i understand what you were likely saying. However, you are right, politics won't go away, if it will i'll through down the towel and leave. VolodyA! V Anarhist Beta_M (converse) 07:24, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How about en:XVideos and/or en:Pornhub? -- Jokes Free4Me (talk) 20:51, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Deviantart" to host people's personal artistic portfolios (an issue which recurs reasonably often)... AnonMoos (talk) 23:06, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

en:deviantArt. Yes, that sounds like a good idea. What would be the heading though? Rd232 (talk) 23:09, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Redid table a bit and added deviantART now. Dcoetzee (talk) 07:04, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Radio4All

[edit]

I'd like to add Radio4All link (from which i've been grabbing many radio shows) as a platform to publish spoken word audio and music. Does anybody have objections? VolodyA! V Anarhist Beta_M (converse) 07:29, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well they do use CC licenses, and it does accept individual contributions, and it has a Wikipedia article. It's a small project but it's better than nothing. Dcoetzee (talk) 08:14, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Publish your personal photos or artistic photography"

[edit]

I see nothing wrong in uploading artistic photography to commons Bulwersator (talk) 08:11, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Artistic photography that serves no educational purpose is routinely deleted as out-of-scope. Dcoetzee (talk) 08:14, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We should remove "preferably as a link to an existing Wikipedia article" or change link to Wikipedia articles, I am not sure what will be better Bulwersator (talk) 08:13, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure either. My feeling is that they might not be very interested in reading the article about the project but rather want to check it out first hand and maybe read more about it later. Dcoetzee (talk) 08:15, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The link is there to support the site being "notable". I take your point - maybe we can provide both WP links and direct links, like Example (Wikipedia). Rd232 (talk) 08:55, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Changes

[edit]

Since nobody was here for over a decade I was so bold to remove a bunch of discontinued alternatives, while adding two current ones. Guido den Broeder (talk) 17:04, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
