Automatic login on another wikimedia project, doesn't work when coming from http://en.wikipedia.org ?
[edit]Is this normal that one's not logged in automatically when going from wikipedia to wikimedia? I read "If you already have an account on another Wikimedia project, for example at Wikipedia, then you should be logged in Commons automatically after logging in your home wiki." I was making changes to a talk page in the wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:€2_commemorative_coins#File:Commemorative_coin_Belgium_2009_Braille.png_Nominated_for_speedy_Deletion when I clicked on [commons:COM:SPEEDY] and this brought me here. I hadn't noticed I changed to commons.wikimedia.org nor that wasn't automatically logged in. It was only when saw my signature and saw my IP adress that I noticed. Is this normal that one's not logged in automatically when going from wikipedia to wikimedia? I've now made an account on commons.wikimedia.org to sign this talk, but jeezes what an over complication. Now I have to copy/paste my profile on the wikipedia to here as well? How do I log in if I forgot password?
[edit]I can't remember the email address I used and the email accounts I have checked do not have a reset email. How do I find our what email address I used? Why is an email reset not being sent to the address I think I used? Update: it is OK I have found it now.
Wikimedia commons refuses login from valid Wikipedia user
[edit]After many failed login attempts and a fruitless search of the help files, my solution is to create a rogue Wikimedia Commons account to circumvent the lock that prevents use of my Wikipedia account to post image files to Wikimedia Commons for access by the Wikipedia articles I am editing.
How to bring my edit history to this account?
[edit]when I signed in it treated me as a new account when I have signed in and definitely done edits before. Does anyone know I might restore that? ExistentialElation (talk) 18:54, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
