Structuring requests
[edit]I propose requests be structured with (perhaps) a template so that it is easier to follow. There are too many sections and it is difficult for me to tell what exactly is the request at a glance. For instance I would prefer to see Flickr links highlighted. -- とある白い猫 ちぃ? 22:15, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
- IMHO, archivation of done requests will considerably reduce the number of requests. Ain92 (talk) 09:35, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
flickr2commons
[edit]The Flickr2Commons tool has the option to upload multiple files and has been migrated to WMF Labs. Shall we point to that on the project page? --Vera (talk) 22:28, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
- That would actually be a handy idea 💡, most of these batches are very easy to upload with Flickr2Commons. --Donald Trung (Talk 💬) ("The Chinese Coin Troll" 👿) (Articles 📚) 11:41, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
Maximum number of uploads with Flickr2Commons
[edit]What is the maximum amount of uploads I can run 🏃♀️ in a single batch with Flickr2Commons, I ran into an upload cap some time ago and it didn't tell me how lomg I had to wait or how much is "too much". A few hours later I could upload again, but I want to upload a batch of over a thousand images from a museum 🏛 and I don't want the programme to stop in the middle of uploading because I've reached my hourly limit or something. --Donald Trung (Talk 💬) ("The Chinese Coin Troll" 👿) (Articles 📚) 11:44, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
- I had a similar problem a couple of months ago when I wanted to transfer about a thousand images. I found that when I tried to re-run the tool, stage 1 detected the duplicates, but stage 2 didn't filter them out, so I had to manually select the images that had failed the first time (or maybe it was deselect the ones that had succeeded, I don't recall). It would be more helpful if the tool ran slowly enough to match the throttle rate of the server, or detected the failure, displayed a warning to the user, paused, then restarted (including retrying the failures) n minutes later when the timeout has expired. --Scott (talk) 14:44, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
Archives
[edit]This page needs to have an archive similar to Commons:Batch uploading, an example would be how all "Adam Jones" requests are already done. --Donald Trung (Talk 💬) ("The Chinese Coin Troll" 👿) (Articles 📚) 15:24, 25 December 2017 (UTC)
Where I can see done tasks?
[edit]It seems that his page has only unfulfilled requests Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 10:49, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
