WikiSense is discontinued

[edit]

It seems like this template links to WikiSense, which says The WikiSense project has been discontinued. and is unusable. 2001:2003:54FA:2F79:0:0:0:1 10:09, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It should presumably link instead to Special:MyUploads, but I can't fathom out how the template is implemented. --David Biddulph (talk) 12:25, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It has been pointed out at the Help Desk that we need to separately edit each of the language-specific pages here: Special:PrefixIndex/Template:Dw_image_source/. Each one of them has a separate copy of the WikiSense link. I have changed the English version, and most of the others, but it might be wise if the changes were checked by people more familiar with the other languages. I haven't changed the /fa version, as I wasn't confident in the changes required there. --David Biddulph (talk) 06:08, 1 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Use for derivatives of Wikimedia files uploaded without attribution

[edit]

I added the orig= parameter which can be seen in action User talk:Debjitpaul10 #Respect the rights of other contributors!, but now realized that the hard-coded «File:» prefix precludes its use for original files from Wikimedia sites other than Commons. Alongside plagiarizing inside Commons, that’s also a common scenario. Suggestions? Incnis Mrsi (talk) 22:33, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Giving the reason

[edit]

Is there no way to give the reason for using the template, e.g. why the image may be derivative, like it can be done with the speedy deletion tmeplate? Veverve (talk) 00:05, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
