Reminder: Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2016 is open!

Dear Brateevsky,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2016 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eleventh edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2016) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category.

In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 20 April 2017, 23:59:59 UTC.

Commons:Deletion requests/File:Time zones of Europe (Crimea disputed).svg

Я так и не понял, почему этот файл оставили. Но теперь в укрвики пытаются силой оставить именно эту карту со штрихованным Крымом. Там люди реально путают временнЫе пояса с государственными границами. Они почему-то считают, что зелёный цвет Крыма равносильно признанию его российским. Можно ли как-то изменить эту ситуацию? Теоретически есть три выхода. Первый -- как-то убедить сообщество укрвики, что. карта часовых поясов -- это не карта стран и госграниц. Второй -- это всё-таки удалить вот этот файл с коммонз и во всех релевантных статьях заменить его на File:Time zones of Europe. Третий -- это перекрасить прямо здесь Крым в зелёный цвет. Честно, я тоже. :) У меня тоже создалось впечатление, что не только участники Википедии на украинском, но и участники дискуссии на удаление не понимают, что да — принадлежность полуострова может быть спорной, но время «спорным» быть не может. Время в зимний период в Крыму может быть либо UTC+3, либо UTC+2. Иначе будет путаница. Абсолютно все источники (в том числе и «западные») показывают, что время в Крыму зимой отличается от континентального украинского на 1 час вперёд и совпадает со временем Москвы, Минска, Турции, Сауд.Аравии и других городов и стран. В Википедии на украинском языке борятся за карту со «штрихованным Крымом», так как считают, что в таком случае Крым российским. С этим с вами согласен, думаю, они правы. Полуостров Крым в некотором смысле — российский, там основной валютой является рубль, 90% жителей знают русский. В Википедии на украинском не хотят признавать, скажем так, факты «российскости» Крыма и соответственно времени, которое совпадает с одной из часовых зон России. Почему оставили карту — насколько я понимаю, из-за аргумента, что, дескать, “files don't have to be factually accurate” (то есть, файлы фактически точными могут и не быть). Но тогда к чему такая карта, которая отражает ложь? Я не знаю. По поводу способов — лично я бы не выбирал ни один, но в будуем пойдёт по сценарию № 1, а потом это перейдёт в то, что файл, может быть даже и не удалят, но он реально использоваться будет нигде. Сейчас тратить время с коллегами из украинского раздела не вижу смысла — мы уже потратили, и к результату это не привело. Есть вариант, который легче всего реализовать, — это сделать так, чтобы кроме uk-wiki данный файл нигде не использовался. --Brateevsky {talk} 10:14, 6 August 2017 (UTC)
Ну во-первых, лично я считаю, что Крым -- украинский. Так же считают почти во всём мире. Вы, я так понимаю, считаете по-другому, и спорить с Вами по этому поводу я, конечно же, не собираюсь. Главное другое -- то, что этот вопрос не имеет никакого отношения к вопросу временнЫх зон. А вот в укрвики, увы, считают, что имеет. Лично я там на СО шаблона уже килобайты написал о том, что зелёность Крыма НЕ ДЕЛАЕТ его российским. Но меня никто не хочет даже слушать -- просто отменяют мои правки. Вариант "сделать так, чтобы кроме uk-wiki данный файл нигде не использовался" меня не устраивает, т.к. укрвики -- это вики моего родного языка. Я могу ещё там на Арбком этот вопрос выставить, но меня, скорее всего, там не поймут и иск не удовлетворят. Нужно как-нибудь решить эту проблему на уровне коммонз. Вы говорите "в будуем пойдёт по сценарию № 1, а потом это перейдёт в то, что файл, может быть даже и не удалят, но он реально использоваться будет нигде". Я здесь Вас не понял. Вы имеете в виду, что в будущем украинское викисообщество поймёт то, чего не хотят или не могут понять до сих пор (то есть то, что временные зоны и страны -- не одно и то же)? Но тогда как расценивать Ваше же "Сейчас тратить время с коллегами из украинского раздела не вижу смысла"? После того как Вы сделаете ответную реплику, я Вам одно предложение сделаю. И ещё добавлю: данная карта со штрихованным крымом -- это элементарный ОРИСС; и если коммонз позволяет такое держать у себя, то вот в Википедии это неприемлемо. Увы, админы укрвики готовы пойти даже на ОРИСС, хотя такая жетрва абсолютно ни к чему (чего они, как мы уже говорили, тоже не понимают)--Unikalinho (talk) 12:49, 6 August 2017 (UTC)

Однако для того, чтобы с Вашим мнением там считались, нужно писать на украинском языке. В этом-то я могу Вам помочь -- Вы можете писать свои реплики на моей СО, я Вам буду писать перевод на Вашей, и Вам останется только копипастить его на ту страницу обсуждения шаблона. Wiki monuments

Привет, на этом году конкурса не было, а если будеть следующий год все еще не знаю. Я спросил преседательицу сербской Википедии - жду ответа. А было в Републики Сербской кокурс, Трагом душе 2017, это похожа Wiki loves monuments и Wiki loves Earth. Закончило с месяцем отябром, жду результатов, я был 3-4 дня в Сербской...сделал несколько фото. Надеюсь получим какой-то приз. --Mile (talk) 07:41, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

Vandalised signs - это надписи, которые сами были вандализированы. Здесь же надпись просто сообщает о том, что на этом месте до появления надписи порезвились вандалы. Так что тут вы неправы.

А с Russian inscriptions неправ я. Мне показалось, что вся категория Signs in Moscow Metro добавлена в эту категорию, тогда как на самом деле только категории с названиями станций и схемами линий.

А вообще мне не нравится тон, которым вы со мной здесь разговариваете, и это уже не первый раз. Причем такая странная реакция на совершенно обычные правки, не в конфликте, не в войне правок, а просто рабочий момент. В Википедии вы от меня не услышите подобного, по крайней мере, в подобных же ситуациях... --Michgrig (talk) 18:41, 23 October 2017 (UTC)

Тогда в первом случае необходимо создать какую-то категорию, что-то типа «надписи, информирующие о том, что данное место было вандализировано». Как это по-английски будет (желательно покороче), я не знаю, поэтому пусть будет пока данная категория. Посему простое удаление данной категории неверно. Если бы замена на другую была — я бы не отменил правку.
Я здесь отменяю и частично неверные правки, ничего не вижу в этом плохого. Вот, скажем, — 1. Я не обхожу вниманием любую правку касательно созданных мною файлов.
Не надо мне угрожать Википедией. Да, здесь мой статус не ниже, а может и выше. Опыт больше и функционал больше. И вы это знаете. :) --Brateevsky {talk} 18:50, 23 October 2017 (UTC)

The files File:Standard time zones of the world.png and File:DEC31 World Time Zones.png which were last uploaded on 19 September 2016 and 19 October 2017 respectively and have not been updated since, need to be updated to reflect the latest changes as of November 2017, because both Sudan and Namibia have changed their time zone to UTC+2 on 1 November and on 8 August 2017 respectively (and Namibia also abolished DST), and Northern Cyprus reverted back to UTC+2 (and uses DST again) on 29 October 2017.

Hello.

Cany put in the Wikipedia articles the up to date file File:DEC31 World Time Zones.png whose title is not restricted according to a certain year, because many Wikipedia articles are using files that are restricted to a certain year and therefore are obsolete (unless these articles indicate the year of these files). Importantly, the time zones of Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk are also shown in this file, separately from Ukraine (unlike most of these obsolete files).

Here are the files that need to be replaced with the above mentioned file:

The reason I requested this because I live in Turkey, and Wikipedia is completely banned and blocked in Turkey by the Turkish government. If I lived in another country I could have replaced these files myself.

Belgium: The Flemish speaking region occasionally produces its own dialect dubbing versions, otherwise solely subtitles. The French speaking region of Wallonia and the German speaking region of East Belgium use exclusively a full-cast dubbing, both for films and for TV series.
