Is it suitable?

[edit]

Hey @Fredddie, I made a state route shield for Georgia State ROute 1011, https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Georgia_1011_(1960).svg, but I don't know if it's suitable because it's in the former routes section. I just added it in the article. Please let me know, and thank you.

I am also trying to add in existing routes 1056, and 1082. GeorgiaStateRoute702 (talk) 23:38, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We made an editorial decision to not make Georgia shields over 1000 because there wasn't any evidence they were signed. I believe the default coding for Jct/infobox won't include a shield over 1000. Do whatever you want on enwiki though; that's no longer my concern. –Fredddie 02:42, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New Zealand Urban Routes

[edit]

Hi, I think I might need a bit of help with this; I'm new to all the various Jct templates, and I gather there's an automated way for the (en) Wikipedia Jct template to use shields; do I manually generate them in Inkscape with the text-to-path using Roadgeek fonts and upload each one? I'm trying to get the New Zealand Urban Routes working the same way that State Highways seem to work, where I can go {{Jct|country=NZL|SH|59|name1=Centennial Highway}} - Do I just amend Module:Road_data/strings/NZL? (By the way, it seems that the Urban Route signs in NZ are all using Series C numerals, rather than the Series E that's in the template, even though NZTA present Series E in the spec. — Jonathanischoice (talk) 00:40, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for asking. I'm not very active any longer on enwiki, so I appreciate you reaching out here. Regarding creating shields, yes you have right the idea. There is a bot User:Highway Route Marker Bot that we can use to make a lot of files. If you need fewer than 20 shields, it's just easier to create them individually and upload them. Regarding amending Jct, yes you just edit the NZL module you linked. I think I made the doc page easy enough to follow. Let me know if you have any more questions.
One more thing, if you're really interested in roads, you might consider joining the AARoads Wiki. We don't currently have anything for New Zealand, but we can certainly add articles if there is an eager editor. –Fredddie 00:54, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
