License Review[edit]

Dear Michael,

  •  Comment: Or can Admins review images that they uploaded because they are trusted enough like this person Ahonc? Just curious. I am signing off and going to bed now. --Leoboudv (talk) 11:27, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Leoboudv: I think an uploader should not review own uploads. I have sometimes transferred files from Wikipedia to Commons and reviewed the file there. But then someone else have already uploaded the file to Wikipedia. --MGA73 (talk) 14:04, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Leoboudv: deleted. --MGA73 (talk) 07:25, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment: Happy May Day Michael!

If you have some time please delete this category below that I accidentally created:

Hi! I deleted the category. About the space photos I can pass them if someone close as keep. --MGA73 (talk) 13:37, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Leoboudv: Yeah it is in use. So it might be worth to see if anyone know how to check if copyrighted. I commented the DR. --MGA73 (talk) 14:52, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Leoboudv: I have passed some and nominated some for deletion so hopefully Category:Flickr public domain images needing human review - pending bot review will soon be fixed :-) Have you looked at the sub categories of Category:Flickr public domain images needing human review - pending bot review - not ok lately? --MGA73 (talk) 17:08, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No worries :-) Happy you have more work to do again. Hopefully things are getting better in Canada. I passed a few more files and nominated others for deletion. --MGA73 (talk) 07:26, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've made the effort over the last few years to collect these images of BC, mostly of postcards, for the purpose of HISTORICAL INTEREST.

I maintain them here and keep them PUBLIC for the enjoyment and learning of all who may be interested.

I claim NO ownership or copyright to any of the acquired, historical images."

There is no chance that he took this old 50 or 60 year old images. One of the images is under a DR and no one has closed it as delete...and all the other images should be deleted in a mass DR filed maybe by you...if you can do it. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 11:39, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Leoboudv: that sounds as a good reason to delete the files. --MGA73 (talk) 13:02, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notification about possible deletion[edit]

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Dear Michael or MGA73,

Please kindly review this quality image if you can. I got it licensed freely from a contact at flickr. I only upload quality images...and no porn junk. Kind Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 10:15, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Flickrbot malfunction[edit]

Dear MGA73,

I don't know if you know who deals with the malfunctioning flickrbot. I think it is Stefan2 now. Goodnight, --Leoboudv (talk) 10:56, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Leoboudv: sadly I do not know who can restart the bot. I hope the notice will reach someone.
I have not followed up on the PDM files for some time. I hope most of the files are either deleted or "saved" by a DR. Did you have any time to follow up? --MGA73 (talk) 14:10, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment: Just for your records...This was added just to the message above to get the flickrbot working again.
  • ✓ Done. Thank you, Stemoc, the bot has been rebooted and is working now. // sikander

I knew It was a Stemoc who know works on this problem...just not Stemoc2. I had forgotten. As for the PDM files, I know some people have uploaded PDM files as cc0 as this category shows but the bot still does not allow PDM image uploads. Most of the old PDM images should be deleted or kept by now. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 19:08, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Leoboudv: I will add the new PDM files to a user category. Then we can see if there are any big categories that should be fixed with the bot. --MGA73 (talk) 19:39, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
