Thanks for uploading File:Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Logo.svg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Hello

[edit]

Are you ok? Why are you uploading non-free files which will be deleted? --ThecentreCZ (talk) 03:14, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Like which files? Alejandro Basombrio (talk) 16:09, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Like United Russia flag, which you sourced to non-free logo not located on Commons. It will be deleted. Useless upload. And even you checked it wrong when its in wrong proportion ratio. ThecentreCZ (talk) 20:44, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Further warning about uploads

[edit]

Hello, please stop uploading wrong files to Commons. It is found that significant part of your heraldry uploads is completely not in accordance to Wikipedia and media levels. Also, you should remove or correct files like Flag of Nuevo Perú.svg, which is wrong. It is in aspect ratio 16:9 which is incorrect, its even seen on source picture. Flags in Peru are in 2:3. Thank you --ThecentreCZ (talk) 01:09, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Warning about possible further reporting

[edit]
⚠

You have been previously notified to stop uploading non-compatible or bad files to Commons. If you won't react by discussion, correct the non-standard files or stop further amiss editations, regarding a possible violation of Wikimedia's policy you may be reported, which can be resulted even in blocking from editing.

Flag of Nuevo Perú is still in wrong ratio, Peru 2000 wrong too. File of flag of United Russia.svg was already deleted as was said to you. This file is again automatically generated, its text font is twisted while it shall be straight as logo of the party. Again sloppy, real-uncompatible and wrong. Thank you. --ThecentreCZ (talk) 07:09, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cultural Flags

[edit]

Hi there. Can you please stop adding and to this gallery? There's nothing cultural about them. They are just political flags of occupied territories. It's exactly like using the flag of Judea to represent "West Bank Israelis". Also there's no such thing as "Luhansk Russians" and "Donetsk Russians" - they are just "Ukrainian Russians". What's next? "Vitebsk Russians" and "Kostanay Russians"? That's nonsense. Both the Abkhazians and the Ossetians are ethnic people in the Caucasus. Same applies for North Cypriots for example. They are not just political constructs resulting of military occupation. I will keep removing the flags every time you add them so just make yourself a favour and just stop adding them. Thanks. -- Argean (talk) 08:11, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. I don't see any valid reason to remove them. Just because they are "political" doesn't mean they can be cultural either. One good example is the Wenufoye, which while it represents the Mapuches, it has been a symbol of the chilean far-left. Or the Bhagwa Dhwaj, which is a symbol of the hindu (not indian) people, but also used by far-right hinduvta organizations. The Cultural flags page is full of political flags, even in the slavic flags section, like using the Belarusian opposition flag to represent the whole Belarusian people, while using the actual belarus flag for representing "belarusian russians". Both the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republic flags have more legitimacy than the white-red-white flag, considering that those countries are being recognized by more than two countries, even the Abkhazian and the Ossetian government recognized them, as you mentioned before.
At first I thought that the DPR and LPR flags could represent those regions as a whole, but I think it would be more valid to use them for russians from the mentioned regions instead of the whole people, considering most ethnic and ukrainian speaking people there don't identify with those identities, in contrast with ethnic and russian-speaking people there. The Russian identity in the Donbass exists far before the 2022 russian invasion happened and the conflict is in part an ethno-cultural conflict, which involves directly the russian identity as a Causus Belli. I'm adding them back. Alejandro Basombrio (talk) 20:40, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply. I don't see any valid reason to add them in the first place. There's no cultural reference I'm afraid for both of these flags. Belarusian "opposition" flag used to be the national flag of Belarus before it was replaced by the current one (which is actually a political one, since it was constructed to serve political purposes) and has many historical and cultural references for Belarusian people. The fact that a cultural or ethnic symbol is being used by a political party or organisation doesn't strip them of their cultural origins. On the contrary, when a flag is constructed to serve political or military purposes there is no cultural reference whatsoever. Legitimacy is an irrelevant factor, and you are already stepping on the boundaries by opening the discussion of what is legitimate or not. This is not the purpose of Wikipedia - the purpose is educational and nothing more than that. If you wish to remove other political flags with no cultural ties please do so. But as far as I am concerned I will not allow any solely political flags in this gallery. The Russian identity in Donbass can very well represented by the different cultural flags for Ukrainian Russians, such as the one proposed one I added yesterday. The flags of DPR and LPR have no place in this gallery and I will keep removing them. Since you are alone on this one, if you have a different opinion please consult the community and get consensus before you introduce your wished changes to the gallery. What you are doing now is edit warring since you are the one that introduced an edit that has no consensus and keep doing that. If you continue doing that I will act accordingly. -- Argean (talk) 08:38, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
PS. I will remove the current flag of the Government of Belarus for "Belarusian Russians". Not sure who added this one in the first place and you're right - it's wrongly there. -- Argean (talk) 08:39, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject Discussion

[edit]

Hi, what is your opinion on discussion act of people on English Wikipedia in here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Politics/Political_parties ? They want to remove all flags from the infoboxes of political parties. You are highly valued in adding flags and they want to remove it. I recommend you to follow it or express yourself there. Thank you. ThecentreCZ (talk) 10:30, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Before making change to the File:Flaga MW.png, first read the original Statute of the All-Polish Youth and not flip the flag. Flag is flown horizontal, but the symbol itself is vertical. Please read the Statute of the All-Polish Youth. DerekTDR (talk) 13:27, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Responding to your description in Flaga MW.png: As I am a former member of the All-Polish Youth and know the symbolism of flag it is known to me that flag officially is flown vertically. On every official meeting of the All-Polish Youth or if there is no flag stick, the flag have to be vertically because of symbolism that is Szczerbiec on the flag. Changing this file to horizontal version is not only a misinformation but also an insult. The source provided to this flag is the official statute of the All-Polish Youth organization. Here are the proves that flag officially should be vertical:
1
2
3
4
5
6
The flag might be horizontal only when it is flown on a flag stick, official representation stays vertical and please do not change it. Thank you! DerekTDR (talk) 18:30, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

File:Emblema de las JONS.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
