Images of Russian soldiers[edit]

Hi. I'm not sure if it's something you'd be interested in doing, but I found a cool account on Flickr OTK 61 that has some older images of Russian soldiers and some other stuff that might be worth importing. I'd do it myself but I'm pretty busy and don't know how to use Flickr2Commons anyway. So I thought you might want to do it. Thanks. Adamant1 (talk) 10:46, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Adamant1 Useful idea! But I will first ask permission from the author. Meanwhile, do you have any new ideas for converting Russian and post-Soviet sites to free licenses and finding Flickr accounts from Russia with free Creative Commons licenses? OK. Not really. I assume anything out of copyright for the normal reasons could be downloaded from Flickr regardless of what license the uploader puts on file. Like there's a lot of cabinet cards and the like in the Vintage Russia group that are supposedly "all rights reserved", but they can still be uploaded to Commons because of how old they are regardless. I don't think it's worth asking the users for permission in a situation like that either. Let alone is it necessary. --Adamant1 (talk) 07:56, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
File:RIA-837198-Original.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
